Default Wilflex plascharge problem - white ink not curing white

I have mixed 50% wilflex plascharge and 50% artists white, then added in 10% activator but the finished print looks an off white-brown color. I initially thought it was burned/scorched ink, but I'm pretty sure it's just the raw cotton color. What I am wondering is how do I get a nice bright white with the plascharge system?? Thanks

I should mention that I am printing on black American apparel. Similar result occured with a test print on a black 100% cotton jerzees t shirt.

You may try upping the amount of white ink used. I have gotten similar results when trying to discharge.

I have also gotten a brownish color to the shirt when discharging...what I did was discharge then printed a white on top of the discharge...defeating the pupose of the discharge but got a nice white print.

It looks like 2 things may be working against you. First and foremost, not all shirts are fully dischargable. I have tested the 2 you mentioned and I have had simular results. If the customer is asking for that particular shirt you can do what Inkedapparel suggest, but you don't have so do a heavy deposit on the white. Print the PlasCharge then the white through a 305 mesh, flash, then colors.
The better shirts that have discharges for me are Allstyle.
Also, When mixing. Please mix like this.
1) figure your formula size (say it's 200 grms)
2) dispense your Plascharge (100 grms)
3) Add your activator - (6% of 200grms)
4) mix throughly... wait 10 minutes ... mix again
5) add your white plastisol

With the right dischargable good, you can do a mix of 30% white and 70% Plascharge if you wish.

thanks for all the responses.
ray, i'll have to try your advice!
i was adding activator after mixing the NF discharge base with the plastisol. could activating first yield better results with the same shirt stock?
