Default Epson 3000 + Accurip = misaligned films?

Hi folks,

I guess i need some help.

Ive been using eoson 3000, accurip and photoshop to print my films. I love this combination most of the time as i am able to output nice thick black films that are wide eanough and halftones when i need to.

However, i have barely succeed with four clour process (using fast films) after a wastage of half a 17" roll of transparency film. You can guess how frustrated that coulld be .

Once I seperate the colours and print them out, I lay them all down one on the top of the others but unfortunately, the rego marks dose not sit perfectly one on another.

I wasn't sure if this caused by the 3000 (my main suspicion), Accurip, Photosop or if someone just put a spell on me.

In Photoshope, i center the image and do not scale non of the layers. Also set the source to "manual feed slot" at the page set up as i don't want to wast some films that accurip takes when you set to automatic. though i tried both.
It also happen in CS and CS4

I also noticed that the feed slot is slightly wider than the actual roll and cannot accommodate the slot clamps (or whatever you call it) just exactlly the width of the roll.

I now got this 2 colour job containing halftones and i am stuck again. URRRR.

Anyone had that issue before?
Any tips would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks inked,

I think that in one of my tries i have cut the films into sheets to fit them perfectly in between the slot bars. It didn't help though.

I will try again though as i have to get them dead on registered this time.

Do you use 13x19 with epson 3000?

Cheers

It's difficult to get the 3000 to align. The 4000 which superceded it has a fixed roll spindle which holds everything true and gives excellent registration, you may pick one up cheaply, they are unloved in the market.

Cheers Dave,
though it's an harsh decision to say good bye to my 3000, i will look into it.
here down under, the 4000s are still popular. they go on ebay for a K or more but i guess you can be tight *** when it comes to your films.
Thanks
