 pricing jobs
Hi was wondering if someone could help me I have been employed as a screen printer for 7 years now I run a svecia automatic machine I don't print t-shirts in work just card and vinyl and so forth. I have recently started printing t-shirts in my garage at home for some extra cash and have bought a manual 6 colour press I have had a few jobs but my problem is pricing jobs I am getting a gallon of ink for £50 don't know what that is in $ when my supervisor comes to me in work and hands me a job I can tell how much ink I will need for the job just by looking at the image the problem is this t-shirt business is new to me and I don't how much ink I would use for certain size runs. I have a basic price list but when it comes to ink I think I am undercutting myself. I have to do a job next week 100 shirts 2 colour, image is A4 size approx 30cm/20cm white and orange no half tone does anyone run a daily business and know roughly how much ink I would use on the job or have a formula they use for ink cost depending on image size and run size I know this is something that is developed over experience but I don't want to be printing big runs and making very little money thanks. |
