I was just wondering if anyone on here makes foam fingers and how do they do it.

I am wanting to actually make foam things and then screen the designs on them. I was wondering how they were cut and then able to put a hand in them. What ink should I use? Where do you find the foam?

Any other information would be great.

you can get foam from upholstery suppliers. they make special cutters to cut it. i know some people cut them with electric knives. same ones used to carve turky.......mmmm turkey

Foam is uaually cut with a hot wire blade so check with your local latex foam wholesaler,they might be able to cut it for you.
Or check with Blick art supplies they have a small one that could be used.

i know a couple of upholstery peopel that use the fine toothed electric saw specialy made for it. i know styrofoam is cut with a hot blade.

Upholsters mostly use large sheets so a fine toothed saw or a hacksaw blade is OK, as the foam is covered with fabric the jagged edge is not noticeable. For a clean cut the hot wire system is more suitable.
As for printing on foam,do not use any solvent ink best to use some water based ink.
