What are the characteristics of an emulsion that's gone bad? I've been having problems washing my images out after exposure and reclaiming. When washing out, it takes forever, even under high pressure, to get rid of the unexposed image and I usually end out taking out a lot of the details (using 155 screen). And when I try to reclaim, the emulsion doesn't melt off like it use to. The screens are pretty much useless and they are brand new! I've never had problems before like this when using 110 screens? Could it be the new screens?
Possibly, but it's same as before which worked fine. I use the sun, leave it for like a minute and a half. Let it soak afterwords in water for 10 minutes and spray out.
I'm using CCI SWR Water Resist Dual Cure Emulsion and it's about 4 months old and I didn't refrigerate.
Can you coat a screen, dry it, then wash out. If the emulsion is bad it won't wash out. If the problem is over-exposure - it will.
Thanks! I think it is bad emulsion, I coated the screen, let it dry, and used it about 4 weeks later and the image was very hard to wash out and a lot of detail came out. I tried to reclaim but it wouldn't budge. The emulsion usually melts off but it just wouldn't this time. But to add after I tried to wash it out (before trying to reclaim) it sat in the sun for a couple of days. So it was overexposed?
