FA 8.5 is old, the r1400 is new, I don't think it is a good chance that FA 8.5 has the right parameters for the r1400.

Check that you can reinstall FastRIP, US Screen has gone down and there are several posts about activation codes being difficult.

Dave is right, I forgot about that. To install FastRIP you would need the dongle and license files. With out them, it does not matter what the software is compatible with.

It does have the dongle. Given that, would I still be able to use it, or should I just scrap the idea and go with accurip? Money is tight right now so i'd like to get away as cheap as possible for now.

I think you need an access code.

Even with the dongle you need the license files, othwise the software will still not work.

It does have the access codes but im assuming that since the company went out, the access code will no longer work. Am I understanding that correctly?

The license codes are specific to a particular dongle. The dongle has a serial number on it and the license files are generated using that serial number. Then you install the lisence files if the FastARTIST directory and the FastRIP directory on your hard drive. The license files are named productp.lcf & products.lcf. The software comes with generic versions of these files that will not get you a functioning version of the software, you must have the ones generated using the dongle serial number. If the person selling the software has the unique lcf files then it should work.
