Re: Advice on re meshing wood screens I had a bunch of wooden frames, and a special screen stretcher and no real experience with re-meshing frames. After figuring out exactly how to make it all work successfully, I realized that I had taken a ridiculous amount of time to make a bunch of screens that were marginal at best. After using some aluminum frames, I cannot see wasting my time with re-meshing. I truly believe that the money invested in the aluminum frames was one of the best decisions I made. I could understand if you want to library the screen for multiple runs, it really wouldn't make sense to use expensive frames on that, but the ones you use everyday and reclaim on a regular basis should be aluminum. The quality of professionally made, pre-streched aluminum screens is far beyond that of a self stretched wooden frame.
Just my 2 cents worth.
My experience with re-meshing was worthwile, but did not get me the results I wanted. It did however lead me to a decision that I wanted to stick with aluminum screens.
Good Luck and let us know how it goes for you. |
