after exposure i gently wash the screen in cold water, then pressure wash the screen, then the emulsion should then start to wash out from the area where your design has been quite easily. i use a 500w halogen with safety glass removed 22 inches above screen for approx 5.5-6.00 mins, i use a non branded emulsion. unfortunatly it is trial and error until you find the right exposure which works best for you. hope this helps.

that is the most important part ... safety glass removed...

also what type of emulsion are you using?
dual cure? if so ...did you stir in the sensitizer?

Sounds like it's not being exposed long enough. You may need to switch your emulsion. some work with certain kinds of light. do some research on different kinds. Also when I had a homemade exposure I kept the safety glass on an would shoot the screen for 30-45 min depending. Yeah its a long time but they would come out perfect. Also with the cover on I wasn't worried about starting a fire. Those bulbs blow all the time and can easily start a fire.

do it with cold water and only expose for 6-8 mins, does the trick for me =)
