I got these great light knit shawls from HTNaturals and I wanted to screen something on them. I use Matsui waterbased ink. I've never done anything except t-shirts. Will this work on a knit?
T-shirts are a knit. I'm not familiar with the HTNaturals shawls specifically, but if the surface is reasonably smooth then it shouldn't present a problem.

No, it's not totally smooth. It's a light sweater knit, not t-shirt cotton knit. It's stretchy and kinda like a ribbed surface. So I'm thinking not.
It doen't need to be totally smooth, just not too chunky The kind of thing I think of when I think "shawl" would be too uneven though - but maybe this is different. I assume the item is too expensive to want to just test it and see what happens? Is there a product photo? Hopefully someone could give you a better opinion from that.

Looks like a 2x2 rib. If I had to hazard a guess (and unfortunately it would be a guess) I'd say printing on it would present some challenges, but it would be possible.
