Default mesh count

Hi Everyone
I need help, please take pity. I have the following montone image that I need to screen print but Im totally lost as to the mesh count that I need to use. I know that when doing this type of detailed ( half tone, dot etc...) work I need a high mesh count but how high.
Any feedback greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Elsa

90/cm (230/in) or higher should be OK for most halftone work, higher if necessary.

About 4 times your half tone line count is a good rule of thumb.

Elsa,

230 will do it for the most part. Are you printing Manuel or Automatic? If you have a clear film positive it will make life much easier. The darker your image the better result you get will your exposure. That will lead to an easier and better screen development along with a much better print.

You can count them (duuuuhhhhh...)
There are quite a lot but a ruler & a loupe will do it. If there are too many it's OK for halftones.

There is a device called a mesh count determiner that will tell you what mesh count you have. It's a little piece of film with a bunch of lines on it. You put it against the uncoated screen and rotate it. You will see little stars on the film for mesh count you have. It's pretty slick. My supplier just gave me one.
