Re: Having trouble getting good coverage with hybrid aqua pura ink Hi Anthony
I've tested the Aqua Pura, but we're not a print shop.
It is an true air-dry ink that is best used for white or light colored garments. It's got one of the smaller environmental footprints for "eco-friendly" production applications.
Opaque prints on darks, require high tension screens and low off-contact for best print results, but the thicker the layer the more it is prone to cracking. Getting just the right thickness for opacity and most "flexibility" is a somewhat narrow window.
Using heat assist for faster drying, will also increase the chance of "cracking"
W.M. also has a mesh pre-treatment spray for the screen image, that helps to "lubricate" the mesh surface for easier ink flow.
The folks at W.M are real helpful, if you haven't already found out for yourself. Unfortunately, we couldn't easily distribute this ink formula here.....our arid environment in Phoenix made it way too much work.
Reclaimed rough screen mesh:
Reduce/avoid abrasive grits in any mesh cleaners or abrasive brushes, and excessive "elbow grease".
Happy trails. |
