We had an earthquake here in southern California yesterday. It was only a 4.something, but the epicenter of it might have well been in the center of my shop. I was working in our ink mixing area, and we are expeirementing with a bunch of new inks including Union's plasticharge, regular plastisol, and a medley of other products. When the earthquake hit, I was standing directly below the shelves that all of the ink containers sit on. The inks only had a plastic wrap for a lid because we were working with them at the time. They all came down and splattered on me and all over the floor. It was so bad I looked like a kindergarden painting / swanp monster. Some got into my pants and it is sooooo painful; its like a pee-hole apocalypse. I am (for the most part) cleaned up, but it will take a while to get our shop back to as clean as it was before.
Re: I got covered in plastisol and plasticharge!!!
You should have posted a picture of you and the shop. that would have been something to see. We here in the Toronto area rarely even feel mild tremors so I can only imagine what that must have been like.

Dang, what an experience. We had an earthquake here in Indiana last year, lasted about 20 seconds, shook the house some, but that was it. I can't imagine what you went through.

If you think you might have trouble finding things if they are behind closed doors or don't have space for doors to swing open or any other reason you might not want doors, try attaching a lip/face board that is just a little higher than the floor of the shelves and the add bungee cords, straps, or small rope to keep things from falling out. A little cheaper and easier to work with than doors.
