Default Help with process printing on darks!

My boss doesn't like to do jobs like these so he asked if I can do the artwork and get this going and I agreed. I was able to separate the CMYK with no problem but now I found out this image is going on a black shirt. Can someone please tell me how to make an underbase? Do I just convert the finished image to a grayscale? What would be a good halftone angle/frequency for an underbase? I search around and couldnt find much on going about the underbase. Thanks in advance!

-Jake

I tried to do CMYK on a black shirt with a white base but like everyone had said it would my process colors shifted to pastels. I am going to try with a discharge base. The problem with that will be color shift also as the fabric is generally natural in color(cream) instead if white. It can be done with a white underbase but I am not sure of the technique and have a feeling it is a little gaurded as not much info is out there on it.

True, thanks for the input. I'm trying to convince the customer to switch to a white shirt in order to make things cheaper/easier. But he's extremely picky.

Stick to your guns. I send those that demand process on black elsewhere as I just dont have the time right now to mess with it until I get it right.

This is the image. I made a halftone grayscale of the actual image. Should that be my under base?

Get a real screenprint separator to do a sim process separation for you.
