How is this done
I keep seeing these tshirts with metallic design In chrome and gold. Is this done with a Screenprinter or some other process?

Re: How is this done You get some glue and screenprint where you want the metallic foil to go.
The foil comes on a carrier sheet, it's basically like the old transfers, put it through heated rollers or such like and the foil transfers where the adhesive is...

Re: How is this done If you have a cutter and a heat press,you could also use metallic coloured vinyl.
I think polyflex and also Siser do these types of vinyl.

Re: How is this done i do foil shirts all the time. when i first started i used foil adhesive then heat pressed the foil to my shirts. i now use plastisol ink the same color as the foil i am using.

Re: How is this done thats right instead of foil adhesive i use the plastisol. foil adhesive is clear. when a foil shirt gets old the foil will start to flake. if there is no color below the foil the design looks like it is missing a part. with the color under the foil you still have color in the design and the foil will look distressed.

Re: How is this done print the shirt as normal run the shirt through the conveyor to cure the shirt. then take the shirt to the heat press and press the foil on the shirt, let cool for about a minute. once the shirt is cool then slowly peel the foil the foil will then stick to the ink. if you want a multicolor design then add foil resist to the color or colors you don't want the foil to stick to.

Re: How is this done If one uses glue through the screen, What type of glue is it,and would not the glue block the screen if it dries.
