Help please!! Tape not sticking to screen after using screen wash!
Please Help! I cleaned the screen with the screen wash and now I am trying to put the tape along the edges of the screen but the tape won't stick I guess because of the oil feeling from the screen wash. What should I do? Will using the frabric degreaser help? Any suggestions are ALWAYS APPRECIATED!

sounds like theres a residue still on the screen. Make sure all of the screen wash is rinsed away . Use a degreaser Wash and Rinse and let dry before coating .
Myself I no longer use any tape for the sides-instead I use a Blockout liquid around the edges.
Cleanup is a brease and simple rinse off with water for cleanup No messy tape in tthe garbage and no glue residue on the screens

Theres a product called Screen Opener that comes in an aerosol can that will get rid of the residue fast. Then you can tape it right away. I would recommend that you look into a better press wipe to avoid this problem in the future. TS 305 from Chemical Consultants works good.

I would not use Liquid Renu-It as a press wash. It is a ghost/haze remover and should be used in a different step in the reclaim process. Try dry wiping the screen wash after you apply it to make sure it is all off the screen before you re-tape.

I guess I have a question... after reading this post.. I got to thinking..."why would you use a screen wash before taping the edges" what I mean is when I set up a screen after reclaiming...I coat then dry then burn the image then wash out then tape the edges...no screen wash comes into play until after I print...just a thought

Ah sorry, disregard my advice - I didn't realize this was an on-the-press color change type cleaning. I misread and thought the problem existed after exposing but before printing. My mistake.

Are you using a "screen wash" or an "ink degradent"? A lot of times an ink degradent will leave a residue. A screen wash shouldn't. I'd check to make sure it's an actual screen wash. That's just my experience. I'm not sure which wash your using.

After using screen wash, wipe off excess residue. Spray some degreaser and wipe off with clean rag. Let dry for 5 minutes (if you wipe your finger across the screen and notice that it isn't slippery or slimy, your tape should stick now).
