Default Printing on Velour?

I have a customer that wants waterbased ink printed on velour shorts. We set the job up and printed the first design on white shorts @ 330-350 degrees for 1 minute which scorched the shorts. We then dropped the temp to 300-320, and the shorts still scorched. It worked fine on medium to dark colored shorts, but does anyone have any suggestions on curing the ink on light colored velour garments? I'm stumped.
