Default My first screen printing attempt

ok this is my first attempt at screen printing a shirt...i purchased the equipment last week and made my design in photoshop and output thru accurip and printed the positives , exposed the screens and this is the result...

now i think the yellow , red and blue look ok....but i need to redo the black..i think it look to blurry and the type needs to be moved apart a little...what do you think..is there something I can do other than redoing the black screen?
Thank You
Gene

Nothing you can do now. But once you get used to printing, you'll notice what aspects of a graphic will/might cause problems during printing while you view it on the computer. This will save you time and headachs so you don't have to press proof every graphic to make sure things print fine.

The red and blue have noticeably spread too. I'd say it's human error on the printing.

Looks like you used a 110 mesh. Maybe try a 156. It looks like you bled a bit. What kind of ink did you use? Whats the screen count. You should have no problem getting small details to show up clearer that that. Make sure you pull your ink through. Dont push it.

yes i was thinking that..about the mesh count...i am currently using 110 ..maybe i should get 4 156 count. i was told that 110 would be ok for logos and type work...thats why i used 110.is 156 about the lowest mesh count for work like this :

I am currently redoing the black plate...i say plate because im a offset printer by trade..by plate i mean positive and screen.should i not bother and get some 156 mesh screens?

A 156 would do you just fine. I actually used a 110 earlier today on a simple one color (black) left breast and it turned out fine. How many swipes did you make? I am almost thinking you made a few passes and it lost its sharpness.

at first i did 1 pass , but didnt clear the image , so i did another pass and cleared the image...maybe i used to much pressure when pulling the squeegee thru?
...also I didnt flash between colors? could that have something to do with the blurriness?

If you flood the screen first you might have better luck clearing the image in one stroke.

I did a flood before the 1st pass.....im wondering if im using to much pressure...im pushing down while im pulling thru the screen..with an 1/8 inch off contact and an off contact tab at the end of the platen...all the videos i have watched are done this way..is this correct? also could printing wet on wet have this effect? UPS distroyed my flash unit...and im waiting for a replacement.
Thanks

UPS destroyrd my flash unit too. After your post I thought maybe if you did the black first? and not flashing at all, and then doing the other colors spread your black and made it bleed from the pressure of the next screens pushing down on it. That could be part of the problem , cause the 110 leaves a pretty thick deposit of ink.

I never flood my black screen when printing plastisol, its to runny and too much ink is pushed through the screen, try a couple cut strokes with no flood on your black screen.
