Default Will a Rip program print darker ink on your films?

I'm currently using Photoshop/Illustrator to print my films. I have an Epson 1400 and Lawson Water Resistant 13x18 films. My print settings are Best Photo, Premium Glossy Photo Paper, "unchecked" the High Speed box, "checked" the Grayscale box (even tried it "unchecked"). My films are coming out pretty dark, but I think they could be a tad darker. I don't want to double up my prints. If I use a Rip program (AccuRip, FastRip, Ghostscript, etc.), will my prints be a little darker? Are there profiles out there for either of these Rip programs?

A RIP program will have a monochrome setting, Windows drivers generally use 'rich' black made up of C, M, Y & K.
If they are stopping light now, making them darker won't change anything.

I would try it before you worry about darkening your films. I have an Epson 1400, use those same settings with stock Claria inks, printing from Illy and it comes out fine. It looks like it could be darker, but I have never had a problem yet burning screens.

However, Accurip will darken your prints, and give you the halftone capability.

I changed one dropdown to "Photo RPM" and all is better. Thanks!
