OK, i was doing the booty shorts for a while, and they had a seem right down the middle that I wanted to print over. That was fine, I just took the foam board and cut a line down the middle for the seem to fall into, and then printed over it. it wasn't perfect but it was much better.
Now I am printing bikinis, and it's getting more difficult. For this batch, I am going to cut the foam board into triangles and place them behind each part, so the bands on the end will fall over the side of teh board and won't cause a problem for the screen.
But what I want to try, and hopefully someone else here has some ideas, is to put the whole thing on top of a 1/4" neoprene - when I screen it, will the thick parts get pushed into the neoprene more, balancing out the surface so I can get a clean screen?
First of all, you are one bright person to use foam board like that. I would have just laid two pieces of pallet rubber on both sides of the middle seem. As for bikinis, I would first see if it would work on my hat press but I would have to look at the bikini and think about it. My girlfriend is fat, so she has no need for those things, but I like the fact that you said yes to job and figured it out later or regret it later, sounds like me. Remember fat people need love to.
Hah! well if I ever meet her, I won't tell her you said that
I didn't get a chance to test out the neoprene method, but wrapping the bikini around a piece of foam board worked like a charm!
i'm still looking for a place where I can get a piece of neoprene to test this out on the shorts - i'm still printing on the bella boyshorts, but the seam in the back is a problem. unfortunately i haven't found any decent or reliable manufacturers that make these with the seems on the sides instead of the front or back. i have seen them, i know they are out there, I just can't find a good brand or source for them ... so neprene is hopefully my best end-all solution
