What am I doing wrong? Trying to print wet on wet, and then print black outline, when I do that, my black screen picks up my other colors and leaves the shirt looking like the top of a frosted cake.
A few things may be going wrong:
1. Your black outline can not touch the other colors
2. You have a problem with your press not registering
3. your mesh is not tight enough.
What I mean, is I print my white, then flash, I print green, then gold, then my black outline, and my gold picks up on my black screen. What am doing wrong?
Do your pallets rotate? then just leave your flash over one pallet and flash every color. if not print white flash green gold flash black. I do not print WOW on dark garments. You can also spray some sillicone spray under your screens to cut down on sticking. Also USE AN OFF CONTACT!!! if you havent already
Thanks for the help, and the shirts are purple, and we have tried flashing between colors and it seems to work that way. I know you guys know what I'm talking about, I just don't know how to decribe it. When I print my black outline, my black screen picks ink from my yellow and makes it look like it has mountains. Like putting your hand in wet paint and pulling it up.

your laying down way to much ink. like they stated above use a higher mesh count for your yellow. what mesh count are you using.
i cant really say without seeing your artwork but thats a no, no. i dont use anything lower than a 160 for underbase, in most cases i use a 190. for colors on top of my underbase 230 or higher, depending if there is any halftones.
how are you coating your screens
you can use a 110 for underbase, but i like the look and feel of a higher mesh, not so thick
I agree you need to adjust your mesh counts for the inks. Also the flash method works too. You could also try changing the order (if possible) that you print your colors in. Print the one that gives you the most trouble LAST.
But it sounds like (without seeing it of course) that you're just putting too much ink down and that's why it's sticking to the screen. So either adjust off-contact (like mentioned) or change mesh counts.
Not much else you can do, besides NOT printing wet on wet.
This is a crazy question, but why flash between colors on dark and not on white or light color shirts?
Kathy...usually you have to put a double coat on darker shirts which require a flash in between coats.
