I want to attend a silk screen class in Northern CA - know of any?
I was interested in attending a silk screen class, preferably a crash course in the Northern California area. Where are they?!!!!! I cant find anything. I came across an up coming 1 day class in the LA area through Ryonet/ Silk screen supplies.com and Reviation Industries. Does any one know anything about this class or company? I'm so anxious to learn something that I'm ready to go regardless. I'm in Sacramento and the local Community collage has a course but its in the middle of the day on a wednesday when I'm working. I thought for sure that the Bay Area would have something available. Silk screen community, PLEASE HELP!!!

The closest one that I know of is in Santa Cruz. I think they are called broprints.com. They just put up an ad on craigslist. Though I have not taken the class or heard if they were any good or not. I contacted them about six months ago and they offered to come to my house for a private lesson so you can learn on your own equipment. You should look into it. And if you do please let us know how it goes.

Doug Grigar gives a really comprehensive course in Oxnard, Calif.,, where you can work hands on with Vastex screen printing equipment. It's a three day course every month or so, you can check out his website here:

I took a class at UC Davis through their rec program (dont have to be a student...). It is VERY basic but did give me a good enough idea on how to start my own set-up in my garage. Let me know if you'd like more info...
