Hey, I'm going to be doing a job with glitter ink going onto black zipup hoodies, I'll be using a 25 mesh screen, so it's the hardcore glitter. My question is: do I need to underbase white below the glitter or will the glitter be opaque enough to just ride on the black? I'm leaning toward the latter, but I just wanted to know everyone's opinion. Thanks

Hi Travis,
What color is the glitter? If it's contrasting to the shirt color, you might want to "underbase" with the same color. That way, if, down the road, some of the glitter may come off in washings, etc. then you will have a color underneath, so it isn't as noticeable.
Hope this helps.

you do know now that you can get vynls in glitter which are a lot easy to cad cut than print than messing about with screen printing. Doing 20 pcs is more practical to do in vynl transfer print than screen printing

Yeah, I purchased some glitter vinyl, but it doesn't have the "shimmer" I wanted. I do know that there's an applique vinyl with awesome glitter qualities, but the the edges have to be sewn or it'll start fraying. I think I will put an underbase down just to be safe. Thanks for the input.
