Re: Attn HP 9800 owners....do you have this problem? I use an HP Deskjet 9800 for testing film positive dry times, durability, and relative ink opacity, alongside the 1319 color output for some of our brochures and general desktop printing.
It makes excellent line art film positives.
But, I don't think there's RIP software available for the 9800 that manages tone pattern/dot art output, if desired.
That may very much be what causes the memory error. It's also why printing file-saved dot patterns would not have correct ink deposit control and tend to smear shadow tones.
Epson's tend to be better supported for this size application, and there are several RIP's to choose from to install. You can also convert many of their printers over to Black-only ink, if it's to be dedicated to film positive output only. |
