Default Just purchased a 1000W Metal Halide Stadium Light...

I've just purchased this stadium bulb + ballast for $75! GREAT DEAL..OR NOT?

Is this bulb too large? It seems absurdly huge and I hope this will work for my exposure unit bulb.

The bulb type is a Sylvania Metalarc Hg M47/S. I put this can of spray starch on the bulb so you can get a frame of reference for the size.

Mine's looks like that. You probably dont need the reflector, but I didnt remove mine's. Trust me, it'll work.

Thank you all for your input! I'll be installing this tomorrow and exposing my first halftone screen. Next on the list is the pond liner and wood/switches for the exposure unit.

Hey, after you expose using that type of lamp...how much time till you can restart it (read somewhere that comercial exposure units use shutters & "warm" start to get away from the cool down cycle)......me thinks that exposure times could be in seconds....jeff
