Default Anyone ever use Holden Emulsions from standardscreen.com?

...I am wondering if they are any good. (I use florescent lamp exposure with screens up to 305 mesh and Matsui 301 water based ink.)

thanks!

I was using holden t-1000 emulsion from standard. I liked it because of the fast exposure time and it lasts up to 18 months. Also its presensitized so theres no mixing involved, but it is $30 per quart. I just recently ran out and decided to try Ulano QX-1 emulsion from victory factory in ny because it was a little cheaper.

Actually just coated the first screens with it a little while ago, let you know tommorrow after I burn them. It coats well.

I just burned my first screens with the QX-1 and found it pretty good, a little longer exposure time but not anything significant. I was doing some research on it though and found that it is not good for use with water-based inks so if that is what you are primarily printing with I wouldn't recomend it.

I used Holden's 250 I believe, their water-resistant emulsion. The screens broke down on me, as in, chunks fell off, after about 30 shirts. They told me that I didn't want to use a hardener either. Perhaps I did something wrong. I use their discharge ink and it is great. I will attribute my experience with the Holden's emulsion with a possible user error, as I was new with screen printing at the time. I switched to Murakami Aquasol HV with a hardener after that, and it works great as far as water-resistance goes, but it is hard to wash-out and reclaim. I guess that is typical of a water-resistant emulsion though.
