Default Bandanas

Hey guys just looking to gain some knowledge in the area of bandanas.

- Is the process just a simple cut and sew after sheets are already screen printed on?
- Majority of the bandanas found in sports shops like Chicks and BIG 5 Sporting goods are very stiff. I have come across some bandanas that are very soft, definately not stiff, and are comfortable to wear. What are the different types of fabric that bandanas are made with?
- What's the best way to print on bandanas?

I've always wanted to design some custom patterns and play around with them but I really am not ready to start, so just trying to get some info to learn thanks in advance

I like bandanas too I have a collection of about 20+ different ones.

I'm not sure why some are softer than others. I'm guessing it is the fabric makeup.

One site that might have more information on the process is www.bandanaman.com

I think some bandanas have starch in them when they are in the store, they get softer when they are washed. Also it depends on the fabric, some are 100% cotton and some are cotton/poly.

I think I read on the bandanaman site that there are a couple of different ways to get the patterns in them. One is screen printing, the other is a discharge or roller printing. I forget the term he used on the site.

I just checked out 2 different bandanas I have. One soft and one stiff. Both were 100% cotton, and I'm thinking that Jasonda's explanation sounds about right. The stiff one is a bit newer, so it could still have starch in it, whereas the soft one was older.
