Default Matsui Water Based Ink better than other water based inks?

1. What makes Matsui water based ink more eco friendly than other inks?

2. Are there similar products available from other manufacturers?

3. Why is using water based ink still somewhat harmful for the environment?

Thank you.

1. Matsui 301 series inks contain none of the following:
  • heavy metals
  • chlorinated phenols
  • phthalates
  • organotin compounds
  • carcinogens
  • allergens
  • APEO content
  • PVC

2. There are similar products out there, but nothing quite like the Matsui. It is the only water based ink that will not dry in the screen. It can even be used for 4 color process printing! (they're currently working on a 4 color process for darks!)

3. There are no inks on the planet that are 100% safe for the environment. There are many inks that are 95-98% safe for the planet and people. Water based inks need to contain things that help the ink bond to and staw with the garment over time. If the ink was 100% eco-friendly, it would likely wash off the garment easily and/or your color selections would be very limited. Many of the bright colors that used in screen printing are rare in nature.
