Hey guys,

What is the best printer to use for making transparencies for silk screens and not break the bank?

For what I was researching, any Epson that accommodate the larger film size you are going to use. Then there is a black ink that blocks the UV, it is ideal for screen printing.
I was told just one film is needed, not two as I as to use now. Then you can fill all the re-fillable cartridges with the black ink. The only problem I see is you have to have this printer just for this purpose.
You can check the ink at inkjetcarts.us.
The ink is pretty cheap.
Once I can have a spare printer I will try this, and post it.

you dont need all of that for making transparencies. I have a standard 8.5 canon MP210 printer. All I do is print out my oversized transparencies using a program called ProPoster which cuts the image to fit onto multiple 8.5 sheets. Two sheets stacked ontop of one another for each section of the design works perfectly for exposing for me.

That's precisely what I am talking about ! the idea is to avoid using two films.
I think ANY printer can print transparencies dark enough, if stacked one on top of the other.
