Default Ryonet 4/2 table top?

Mmmmk. Heres the deal. I read the discussion about the Ryonet presses and it sounded like everyone hated the table top ones.

My question is: Are they really that bad?

I mean I'm just starting out and I won't have any big jobs for a long time probably. And it's not like I have all the money in the world to buy a $4000.00 press. I would probably be doing jobs of 12 pieces or so, most of the time. I really was eying the 4/2 table top press, it seems to fit my needs/means well, but if it sucks I guess I'll have to upgrade. Thanks!

I purchased the 4-1 Ryonet startup kit and it works fine for me. Yes it is a pain in the *** to get setup and a real pain for multi color jobs. But to me, a great starting point.

Another thing to remember is screen printing machines don't seem to depreciate like other machines, the screen printer doesn't seem to get much wear and tear.

So my .02 to you is to go for it, do as much research as possible because there are a lot of variables that come into play when screen printing.

Good Luck!

I started out in January with a 1 color 1 station.. April I bought a 4 color 1 station.. and a few weeks ago I got a riley hopkins 4 station 4 color. My advice is, its a good press (the 4/1).. but you will feel very limited (in one way or another). Not to steer you away from it or anything.. Go with what you can get and it will be just fine!

I just recently got the 4/1 starter kit from Ryonet. I didn't want to invest a lot of money until I saw if this was something I wanted to do. For $1000 it wasn't a bad deal. It paid for itself in 1 month and now I'm ready to upgrade to a bigger press with micro registeration, and get a conveyor dryer. I say for the money, it's a great starter. Lining up multi color jobs is no fun on a starter press, but, usually most of your jobs are 1 color.

I can tell you one thing...if you want a cheap good press...you have to go with a used setup. Yes, I was lucky to find my setup, but if you look for it and do research they are out there. What part of the world are you in? I have found three within a days drive from me for others. A nice press for less than $900 can be found. My 6 color 6 station CAPS press with flash dryer and 60 gallons of ink only cost me $1800. Look on craigslist and digitsmith. All the finds I found were craigslist. Just search in areas within driving distance and you should find something.
