Important Question. Screenprinting over a screenprint
Is this possible: I have a black sweater with a screenprint on the back. Is it possible to screenprint the back with a black color to eliminate the screenrprint, and then when the back is all black, put another screenprint? would this work? would it look okay? thanks for any feedback. (photos of sweater below. material: 95% cotton/5% spandex; its very thin and light as a tee.)
Re: Important Question. Screenprinting over a screenprint
Someone emailed me a few weeks ago about covering up an old date on printed tees, then reprinting them. I told them it would not look good, and probably would not be feasible. I think it would be even worse on your article of clothing.
Re: Important Question. Screenprinting over a screenprint
I know this is an old post, but I just had a customer contact me about changing dates on bandannas. They are already printed with plastisol ink. The bandanas are black and the print is white. They do not want new dates, just block out the old dates. Any updated advice, or is advice above still my answer?
Re: Important Question. Screenprinting over a screenprint
Embroider over it, heat transfer over it, print something and sew it on over it. Printing directly on top of it will look terrible and will undoubtedly cause you to scrap it. Maybe just get a new one. You can print that design using digital direct to garment printing provided the surface and the material content supports the process. Instead of screen printing, the dtg printing process will enable you to print a one-off garment economically.
Regards!

Re: Important Question. Screenprinting over a screenprint
Same here. Wouldn't touch trying to print over it. I might fire up the shoot out gun and see if I could get the white date off the bandana that way? Don't know what the art looks like but may work if the date isn't too close to the rest of the image and if the black dye int he bandana doesn't get all smeary.
