Aloha Everyone,

I just heard from one of my manufacturers of screen inks, that Black t-shirts when sent through the dryer releases formaldehyde into the air. He heard this from a speaker at a Trade Show seminar.

Does anyone want to comment on this or share more information?

I'd believe it. I have all types of smokes and steams coming off my shirts, and sometimes I get headaches from it. But seeing as I smoke 2 packs a day and already have emphysema, I'm not too worried about it.

There is formaldehyde in lot of products, like even your particle board furniture has it, and some people say that is not a good thing. I thought I have read about transfers containing it. There is this article: Is your T-shirt toxic? - Green Living Online
