Hey neato, are you still looking for a press? You know I'm partial to the HIX (partly because we sell them but mostly because I used to print on 1 in my shop).
But, here are 2 selling points I wanted to remind you about....
- All heads down operation
- easy to use micros
They are 1 of the only all heads down printers for the money and the micros are real easy to use. Much easier than the joystick setup. One issue many printers don't realize about the micros with other presses is the off-contact.
With lots of other printing presses you have to use a wrench to adjust the off-contact. On the HIX presses, you only have to quickly twist 1 knob (by hand). It makes it real easy and quick.
I know this sounds like a solicitation (and that's a no-no) but i just figured I'd throw out some friendly info about the HIX press that maybe you didn't think about. Every press has pros and cons. With the HIX, the biggest Con is probably the price.
If you're still looking, good luck. I hope you get something you're happy with and it makes sense for your shop.
PS - checkout the Anatol manual presses too. I don't like that company, but their presses are great too.
