Im about to open a place in the local flea market, its always busy and its good money, they airbrush guy next to me makes a killing, but the only thing is there is no water where im at, what can i use for pressure to clean the screens, i have a tub, a water pressure thing, but can i put the water pressure to something other then a waterhose? is that confusing?
i was thinking about that, but i wasnt sure if it would work, yea i would put a bucket on wheels and roll it out when im done, how much does thing like that cost?
i have no water in my garage so therefore, no drain. i built a washout booth that drains through a piece of 110 mesh, into a bucket and then drains in to the flowerbed next to the garage through some clear tubing. i wouldn't drink it, but there is really no solids in the water and i don't think it would hurt anything.
your situation mught be better since you have a tub and a way to pressurize it. you could make some kind of filter, then have that drain back in to the tub, recycling your water.
Ryonet White is an International Coatings plastisol ink... as far as i know they don't market a waterbased white. could be wrong.
the question is... what do you wish to do at this market? printing is fine, and you can even bring your screens home after the fact to use your ink degradent and reclaim in your own sink with proper drainage. in which case, you won't need water until after the event, you'll just have to be careful toting inked screens.
you're probably using Ryonet's screen wash to remove the ink?
this makes the towels you use to wipe the screen hazardous, and they need to be disposed of as such.
also when you use the reclaiming chemical to remove the emulsion from the screen, you are messing with some nasty stuff. though people might not notice, or if they do might not say anything, most reclaiming chemicals seriously disturb ph levels in the soil and a stickler could probably give you a hard time.
or your personal ethics could get you. i know they would me.
im mainly using the ryonet white, i dont think its waterbase, im new to all this, so im not sure what the difference is between the two
Check the label, if it is plastisol, you don't use water at all to clean the screens. So long as you bring screens to the location already burned, you clean them up with a chemical and bring them back home to reclaim or store.
You only use water to clean waterbased ink screens. Ryonet does make a private label waterbased ink, so again, read the label.
im going to bring the screens here with the emulsion on them and burn the image here, so i have to was the image out with the water, so i im not suppose to use water for anything? i do use that screen wash spray, but i use water to get it all off after, and i use water to get the emulsion off after i use the emulsion remover, how dangerous is that remover?? i dont use gloves when i use it, so the water is for them image after i burn it, and to take off the ink after i use the screen wash, and yes i will recliam at my house, unless i run out of screens cause i only have 9, then i will have to setup more screens there, its real busy here, im not doing less then 10 or 15 shirts and these people will pay 7 - 8 bucks a shirt and a 15 setup fee, because no other shop is open on the weekends here and i do them on the spot, so hopefully it all turns out ok
So basically you're proposing to set up an entire screenprinting shop in miniature form at a flea market? Personally I think that's an insane thing to attempt. It's hard enough in a one room garage (but doable), let alone someone else's environment you have minimal control over. I think it would make you an extremely obnoxious neighbour, and I imagine the market would kick you out. I think most of the actual work would need to happen off-site.
I would invest in a plotter and either heat press everthing or use the vinly as ur stensil out there.. good luck.. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE u just got to figure it out! I did it a a flea market once..... BTW it was a *****!
Ok this is what i have, a 12x12 place, the guy next to me does airbrush and his compressor is loud as crap, so thats nothing, i am goin to build a wall for a dark room, prolly a 12x4 and ill still have alot of room, i just have a ONE color press, so its nothing big, the tub and screens will be in the dark room, along with burning of the screens, and the press and flash dryer on the outside, i have enough space, my shirts are going to be kept in the back away from me at a friends place there, its just a 1 color press remember, id understand if it was a 4 color or more, then i know for sure i wouldnt have space, but one color here is easy and good money
