Default ANy household products that work as well as the costly chems the suppliers sell ?

Just wondering...
Are there any home products you guys use to
remove:

1. emulsion off used burned screens
2. ghost images on screens from dried water based inks
3. ink remover from clumsy finger prints on shirts

I use simple green to clean my screens before coating them...and to clean platens.

Really HOT water... with a little pressure behind it (i.e. garden hose head with a "jet" setting) actually found this out on accident

You can also use dawn dish soap as a degreaser

1. Bleach works well removing emulsion, but you have to let the screen sit in bleach for a long time - up to a few hours even.
2. You can try using Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove ghost images from water based. I've had success with that, although I'm not sure of the longterm effects of using it on the screen. From what I understand, the eraser is just like a really really fine sandpaper, so there might be some screen breakdown if you use it all the time.
3. For ink remover, if it's oil based ink - mineral spirits. If it's water based ink, then your best bet is to wash it immediately with laundry detergent and warm water. The longer you wait, the harder it is to get out.
