I would like to print my designs on a range of shirt colors from white to black. I only have a single station press so printing an underbase is not an option. The designs are also fairly intricate on some of the shirts.

I have been looking hard to figure this out, its the last thing left to solve.

First: Plastisol or water-based? I like the soft feel and I have found two water-based inks that says they are for dark fabric - Matsui 301HO and International Coatings Gen IV. I've also heard plastisol is better for intricate designs.

Second: Which plastisol ink would you recommend for printing on a dark/black shirt without an underbase?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm so close to launching this clothing line but there are so many things to consider.

While most white plastisol inks are better if you print/flash/print, One Stroke Inks, Louisville, Kentucky has a white that they say doesn't need a flash. I haven't used it, so I can't verify the results. Maybe they can send you a sample.
