Default Ghostscript Color Halftone Printing

I would like to print out a color composite on a laser printer showing the actual halftones instead of a grayscale effect.

I have loaded Ghostscript, a great little program, but have only been able to get it to print postscript halftones in black and white, eventhpo the object is in color to be printed.

Anybody know how to print a composite color proof with Ghostscript so it prints out in color with the actual postscript half tones (actual dot size)?

Is there another program besides Ghostscript that will do this? Fastrip creates a color proof with postscript half tones, but only works on certain ink jet printers. I have a laser color printer.

Thanks for bringing it up. I have been trying on and off to do some halftone printing. i also have Ghostscript at work, weve been using it for some other purpose. you wouldnt believe me but involves a 5.25 floppy...... but now i know my halftones can be created using Ghostscript. to get a composite, have you tried seperating the image in PS channels and exporting each one seperately? im going to try it soon to see what happens. im trying to make some can coolers and such with the EX Photo method..... lots of luck..

You could do it by making bitmap halftones out of Photoshop, then recombining them in a new file with each halftone either in a separate channel or on a separate layer and coloring them with the correct process color.
