Default International Coatings

Has anyone had any experience with International coatings from Nazdar. I have a client that is lookin g at shimmering silver on Black t's. Does silver cover good on black or is there somthing I should be aware of before taking this job. It would be my largest job todate and a good in with this place of business if we can do it.

Yes it covers well on black. Make sure you have a coarse screen to press with, perhaps 86 mesh or even lower if your design allows. If you have details in your graphic, best thing to do is also buy a curable reducer to make the ink more workable, and press through a 110 mesh.

I just did some hoodys with the silver and it looks good! Took 2 passes but I thinkl that was due to my mesh. cure temp is the same as regular plastisol colors

Whoa...I would test this silver shimmer, or any other metallics. AND THEN WASH TEST!!! Nazdar and IC are great companies. We've done different tests with silver because we do a number of products with silver for a client. (Hey, you're not trying to get our business are you?) Here's the downside with metallics, if you are using an infrared dryer the metallic in the ink will reflext the infrared and your ink will look nice, and feel nice, but won't be fully cured. You'll find this out as soon as you, or your client, or one of their customers washes the shirt. >Ouch< To get around this, we usually pass the garment through our drier twice. Yeah, it slows things down, but so does reprinting! As I mentioned in the beginning, test..test...test.
