i charge $3-$4 per 8" digit, and in most cases per color if it is a 2 color number. i get about 50 cents per 3" letter. If there's enough of them I'll just round it to about $8 or $9 for a 1 color name and number, beats counting individual letters and then having to nickel and dime the customer.
I just got some paintball jerseys done by chicago t-shirt (which is sunburst sister company) and they were going to charge me 5 bucks a name. I am telling you who said that because they normally have the best prices around and they are a really big company.

Thanks for the info it is really helpful.
We were doing double digit 8" numbers on reversible basketball jerseys (four prints - both fronts and backs). We screen printed using a stencil system. Very time consuming job but looked great!
Fortunately it was for a customers that has been very supportive and given us referrals as well.

Thanks!! It is nice to know where you stand with the "Big Boys".
I appreciate you taking the time to mention it.

For 8" vinyl we charge $2.00 per number, that's what most of the sporting goods stores in our area (Dallas) charge. So if we screen print the team name on them, the added charge is gravy.
Screen printing numbers take a lot of time and screen's, most customers have no problem with the vinyl.
I used to do both vinyl and flock numbers (back in the day - 80's).
I like the screen printed ones but you are correct - they take a lot of time. I have a Roland cutter so I think I will just start doing it that way. Then if they insist on screen printing, and want to pay a little more, we have our bases covered.
Thanks for the info about pricing. It is really nice to have people that are willing to share info. In the 80's we didn't have internet and a lot of suppliers didn't even have 800 numbers. Things have sure improved!!
Im going to do 30 jerseys for a softball team which are polyester, I will be doing 15 8inch numbers in blue and 15 8inch numbers in gold for a total of 30, does $5.00 per jersey sound too little or too much???
I don't know what a Binch number is. I do know when you buy vinyl numbers there 10 per pack and what you don't use you save for the future, Like I said we charge $2.00 per number or letter so if that's what Sporting Goods Stores charge in your area is $5.00 go for it. Good luck John
