You can design how you want your "label" to look, and then the screenprinter can just screenprint it onto the shirt. This is commonly done-- you probably have t-shirts in your closet where the necktag is actually screenprinted onto the t-shirt rather than having a cloth label. If you search the forums you can find guidelines for what needs to be included on the label, especially if you will be including the care info on this label as well.

Are you the printer?

Or are you send ing the file off to be imprinted?

Either way - scan in the "tagless" area of a t-shirt that shows the iinfo printed on it. Like a hanes tagless.

Then created you artwork to replicate the same space = open area that shows.

You want ot be able to read everything when the t-shirt is folded or hanging on display.

Make a raised platten so the seams will be lower than the shirt seams. Now you can print away.

Turn the shirt inside out and screen it? Thats what I would do.

Here's an example of one I saw posted earlier this year.

I was assuming you wanted an answer for production runs ... turning each t-shirt inside out is a big labor cost. Someone will pay for it. Either you, the printer, or the customer.

Keeping your costs (labor) at a minimum means the project is "repeatable" for a profit each time you imprint the "tagless" area.

When you print 24 t-shirts for friends or to "test" the market - your hope is that it takes off and can pay your salary.
