A flash dryer or conveyor dryer is better for screen printing. A heat gun can do the job in a pinch, better for a one off or very short run. I have used a heat gun to flash and press to cure.

all i have right now is a heat gun. I have never screen printed before and I am looking at getting some basic start-up equipment to try it out and see if I like it. I understand that cracking can occur if the ink is not properly cured and I really don't want to spend $$ on something right now if I don't have to. Thanks for the input.

A Heat press can have "dead" areas in them & ink won't cure inks or so watch out if you buy a used heat press.

A flash dryer is good for thin layers of ink.

But if you want to print thick deposit of ink for Athletic designs you really need a dryer that will push air dry all the way thru the fabric/ink to cure properly.
