Need advice on printing/transfering on softball uniforms..
Hi,
I just got our first order to do softball uniforms for a local girl's team. The material of the uniforms is a 'wicking mesh' He wants as much of the design screen printed as possible, but I am not sure how to go about doing that so it is as time and cost effective as possible for me (all the different names and numbers - for 38 uniforms)?
Also, I have never screen printed on this type of material. It is 100% polyester wicking mesh. I am going to be printing white and red onto royal blue. Do I need to get specific inks for this? My concern is whether I should do transfers on the back (and if so is there high quality transfer paper I should use?) or if screen printing, do I need to use specialty inks with this material?
My equipment is pretty basic. I am using a manual textile printer, and have just recently purchased a pretty basic 4 in 1 digital heat press machine. If anyone could give me ANY advice whatsoever, if would so greatly appreciated!! I am a bit nervous as we are doing this rush order for him and won't have time for a back up plan if it doesn't go well.
Please help! Thank you!!

Make sure you get a low bleed white. This is very important or your white will not be white. Also do not get too hot in dryer which would cause more bleeding.

get the low bleed red unless you "back" it with the low bleed white....Studog is soooo right about the heat ....too much will relaese the dye in the fabric, make sure you don't overflash also
