What is considered Unions "General Purpose" ink? Union inks are new to me. So for you Union ink users what fits the bill best? I don't want to spend money on Mix-opake to discover I should have got Max-opake or the other way around.
I recently printed up some work for a friend using Union
Ultrasoft ink - I really liked the initial color results - until I washed my test prints several times.
I got the desired "hand" I was looking for but the nice crisp red and black on the white 100% cotton Gildan looked like a ten year old T-shirt - very faded and aged looking - very cool in my book but not what was ordered. They are looking for something more color durable - as in, the red stays a nice solid looking red but not a chunk of shiny plastic either.
I thought I hadn't cured it long enough or I'd used too much reducer so I set up some more test prints with reduced ink and ink straight from the bucket.
I made enough test prints to do some curing tests - I reverified Unions cure directions and on purpose:
* under cured - experinced obvious wash out
* cured @ temp and for Union specified time - same initial results
* over cured until the shirt scortched

- same as initial results
* and double cured - same as initial results.
So after all that I think I was on target curing and the amount of reducer (20%) didn't appear to make a difference.
Thanks in advance.
