Lightbulb What plastisol inks brands to use???

Couple of Questions about brand names and inks..

What type of inks do you use and brands?

If you are going to print a nice white image or text on a black shirt what white ink works best for a soft hand and no transparency what method would you use (Print flash print) and mesh?

What inks give a really nice soft hand?

what inks do you use for color matching/mixing?

Thank you to all who reply

I like QCM white inks the best. I use White 158 for 100% cotton. It's really creamy and easy to print. If you need more bleed resistance then I'd use White 145 or 170. These inks are thicker and a little harder to print but for poly or poly blends it's necessary. If I was going to print something like white text on a black 100% cotton shirt I would probably use QCM white 158 and a 140 or 175 mesh and print flash print. The feel is not too bad but the only way I know to avoid a heavy hand completely is with discharge.

I'm also a huge fan of QCM. They're 158 Creamy Glacier white is fantastic stuff. Not only that, they make a whole line of phalate free non-toxic inks. They're sort of ahead of the game when it comes to dealing with environmental issues.

Wilflex and International Coatings are what I use.

Their Bright Tiger white is really creamy and easy to use. Print flash print tends to give it a nice soft feel depending on how large the ink deposit is on the shirt.

If it's a cotton-poly blend or a polyester shirt I swear by Wilflex Polywhite. No bleeding, fading or dye migration, even on maroon shirts.

They have a good color range. The Wilflex is more expensive than the International Coatings, but it's good ink so when I really want the color I go for the wilflex but if color matching isn't an issue IC has a bunch of inks that are close to the Wilflex colors.

Good luck!

Also Wilflex has a mixing system for pthalate free printing if you're in the market for eco inks, as was mentioned above.

It's called QuantumOne. It's fairly expensive kit to buy (plus a scale for measuring), but you would be able to mix most Coated/Uncoated pantone colors for color matching, or just regular printing...but this might be an expensive route to go.
