Need to but a printer and need at least 11X17... not a bunch of cash just sitting around... right now, i am used to printing on two pieces of velum to get the required darkness... still... only printing on 8.5 x 11 and need to upgrade... any thoughts...
For what printing process are you needing the printer? When I read vellum and darkness, I am thinking you are using it for screen printing, which I don't do. If it is, and you can use Epsons, then looking at the model's on epson.com is a great way to see the different large format printers they carry.
They also sell refurbs on the site, and some of the deals are awesome. If you google Epson 10%, you can likely find a 10% code that is given to first time buyers of the site. I found it for my own use, and once or twice again for others.
I bought my epson c88+ on there as a refurb. I can tell you it is perfect, acts awesomely, never a hint of trouble, and it looked brand new. That's one girls opinion for you. Hope you find what you are looking for. Good luck, Kelly

I am just using it to print on vellum for screen printing. Ill let you know how it comes out, I have to make some prints tonight for a job this weekend. I only picked the hp because they sent me a coupon for free inks from my last purchase of a printer and office depot didnt have another printer to compare it to.
