hi Rico,
I also comparing epson 1400 and Hp K8600 if what printer is good. If you try HP printer in t-shirt or any heat transfer paper let us know. Thanks
ok here is my review on it...
it sucked
the printer wouldnt accept the vellum, it would say that there was a paper jam, when i put in regular paper it worked but it would wrinkle the corner and end up getting ink on it and not printing correctly. I tried it a few times with a few different types of vellum and paper and got the same result. Not only that but the ink was not dark at all and the colors werent all the accurate. The red looked more pink and the black was a bit on the light side. I ended up taking it back, now I just have to wait till office depot puts the money back on my card so I can go to staples and get a epson 1400
It may have just been that printer but I didnt want to give it a second chance to mess up on me.
Crazy thought, but did you adjust any of the printer settings or do any calibrating to try and get it to print properly? I went through about a week of tinkering with my Epson 1400 before it was accepting the film and printing as black as midnight! In any case, what's done is done, you'll be a lot happier with the Epson in the long run I'm sure. Most are!
yeah i was messing with it for a few hours and even talked to their tech support and still didnt like the quality of the prints. I did'nt give it a week to play with but I dont think it would have got that much better for me to like it. Its a new style machine so I should have known it would have some kind of drawback.
Office depot just put the money back on my card yesterday so I'll probably go get the Epson today.
Sweet. I'm very happy w/my Epson, no complaints yet! Going on 3 months now. Let us know how it works once you get it all set up. I'd be extremely interested to see how it works out of the box for you compared to the other one.
i bought an Epson 1400 and was printing with in an hour..... i didnt have any problems at all.... the best part was best buy had them on sale and staples did a price match!!!!! I'm very happy with my printer
I have the Epson 1400 at it's really great, I bout mine brand new at Circuit City for $174, but that deal is gone, but you can get it on Epson.com for $199 after a $100 mail in rebate with free shipping. That's a great price.
I have never used films and don't really have time to learn a new process... is there any vellum that anyone can think of that works with the epson 1400?

when the shop by the house runs out i run to office depot and snag a pack of their 11x17 foray vellum. It works fine for me.
Its not it the paper section its in the drafting supplies aisle.
