I am a new member who is looking at doing some T shirt screen printing to perhaps promote my business or sell at my business location. I have an outdoor pursuits/ watersports business.

My question is how much does it cost (in ink terms)to print each t shirt. I know this is a broad question and it will depend on the size of the design etc, but give me a clue. I.e if a simple grey t shirt is printed with a simple one or two colour design approx 6inch square on the front, how much ink is used etc. Approx how many t shirts would 1 litre of plastisol ink do.

Sorry if this is too broad a question. Very new to the whole t shirt printing scene and would appreciate any help you lot can be. Cheers

The cost per shirt for ink is pretty small, maybe $.05. It's really just a few cents unless your using a very expensive special effect ink like a true reflective. The expensive part of screen printing comes from all the equipment needed. Things like Presses, flash cure units, conveyor dryers, screens, squeegees, exposure units, Film output devices, etc.
