Default Evolution of emulsion

55 years ago when I got in the silk screen business we used Elmers Glue which is a formula of PVA (poly vinyl alcohol) which there are many. We sensitised it with potasium bichromate or potasium dichromate.

Since that time many formulations have been added to make the emulsion different color, more water and chemical resistance also different exposure times.

I have used Elmers Glue on very fine screens to print many items such as plastic bottles, signs, T-Shirts and electronic parts with as many as 25,000 impressions.

It's funny how things have evolved. "NOTHING IS FOREVER"

Default Re: Evolution of emulsion

Photographic emulsions was made of gum arabicum, dichromate and pigment for a number of years.

You can make beautiful pictures using it.
I have found some comments, pictures and directions on how to do it here.
