Anybody know other alternatives to using a belt printer for all-over printing? I have tried contacting the few places that have belt printers and they are either swamped with orders (2-3 month backup), or are too far away for me to afford the shipping.
I've been told that oversized screens are good, but can only cover the shirt with up to an eighth of an inch not being inked on the edges. One place wants $350 per screen for the XL and 2XL sizes.
Someone else suggested that I look into heat transfers. Do I need an oversized ink jet printer for that? If so, how much do they cost? And can I get transfer paper large enough to fit a 2XL, and do I need a huge printer to fit that size paper?
If I could do this work myself without going to outsource, I'd certainly do that.

At the long beach show, someone was demonstrating a carousel press that was doing all over prints. The shirts were simply laid on an oversized platen (like a 3ft X 3ft piece of plywood). Sorry I don't know who had it, but know there is an alternative to a belt printer. Hopefully someone else who was there can chime in with the company doing it.

Here is an article on all over printing using transfer. They used multiple 11X17 sized transfers.

Unik Ink

I can print oversized up to 3 colors on everything except the sleeves of a shirt right now. I am working on a platen that prints sleeves as well. I should have some pics of oversized prints soon.
