thanks again any links will be helpfull
Press wash would be a good choice to clean up the press, but you can use mineral spirits. I would strongly advise using nitrile gloves for cleanup, especially with the mineral spirits, as it's not really good to be bathing in the stuff. You could also use WD40, for that matter . . . it'll cut grease. As far as lubrication, for all the threaded components such as clamps and micros, a light machine oil such as 3in1 would be fine. As far as the bearings for the carousel, I'd contact HopkinsBWM and see if they have any recommendation as far as using oil or grease. I have a Vastex and it has a hole in the plate covering the top bearing, and they specify a light oil. Hopkins might be different.
After our Antec press got flooded under Hurricane Katrina's 6' water, we pulled it out and used a power washer and steel wool (use heavy gloves). Everything got washed, top to bottom. After that, let it dry in the sun, then a good oiling and greasing, also spread oil on the metal areas that were painted before the power wash (legs, stand, etc) to keep them from rusting. Had to replace the pallets, but beyond that, the press works great even 2 1/2 years later.
