Printing tranparencies with a Lexmark x6570? Hi,
I need some advice on printing transparencies for silk screening using a Lexmark x6570 Ink Jet printer.
This printer has wireless printing, faxing, printing photos, scanning, copying & regular printing features.
I searched the forums and learned that I should be using Dye Based Inks for printing transparencies instead of Pigment Based Inks.
Can you please verify that this is true?
However my Lexmark x6570 uses Pigment Based Inks. I know my options for are: I can print out 2 copies of the transparencies to put them together & this is suppose to give me the darkness that I need. The problem with this is that I would use more of my transparency sheets & what if I have a problem with lining up some of my designs.
I also know that I can look for Dye Based Inks but I can not find any for the Lexmark printer that I have.
I noticed that Lexmark has this ink called #44XL Black Print Cartridge. It says: The unique pigment based formulation of evercolor™2 ink combines exceptional resilience and water resistance.
Here are it's features: Vibrant, Resilient Results!

Has anyone used the Lexmark #44XL Black Print Cartridge for printing out transparencies for silk screening? If so, how were your results? Do you think that I would get the opacity I need on my transparency using this ink? Or does the fact that it's pigment dyed ink means that I would not get the opacity I need for my transparency?
Does anyone else have any suggestions on what I can do?
( At this time I rather not spend money on another printer)
